In February, I was fortunate to attend AIA Grassroots in Washington, DC. The theme was 'Design as Inspiration, Engagement and Collaboration'. Kim de Freitas and I went to Capitol Hill and brought 'The AIA Blueprint for Economic Recovery 2010' to Congressman Scott Garrett's office. It includes the following:
1) Help Struggling Communities Rebuild.
2) Unfreeze Credit to Get America Building Again.
3) Encourage the Commercial Sector to Build Green
4) Provide Relief for Small Businesses
5) Invest in our Children with 21st Century Schools.
AIANS gladly accepted the 'Component Outreach & Communication Award' . Click HERE, to see video from AIA National. This award recognized the hard work that went into running our Live The Box competition in 2008. Thank you again to Kim de Freitas, AIA and Christopher Stone, AIA. It was a very exciting and proud time for all of us; we accepted the award on stage in front of 500 plus Attendees.
